iStruct® Desktop

The Home Menu allows users to:

  • create new file (i.e. New isPlan®, New isDesign®, New isOptimize®, or New isWall®) as seen in screen shot below:
  • open existing file
  • open from recovery files
  • access live support
  • check for new version of iStruct®
  • access the CSD portal
  • access the iStruct® Training Center
  • install the iStruct® certificate
  • access the help-file
  • access single member design tutorial
  • get technical support contact information
  • shared options (a way to share the options over a network where if one person within a company changes an option it affects everyone within the companies options)
  • access options- allows company to set up to their specifications
  • exit- exit iStruct®

Home

  • This tab always displays at the top of the screen and allows users to return to the homepage anytime while working in any of the applications

Open iStruct® File

  • Click to open an existing file created in any of the iStruct® applications.

New isPlan

  • Click to start a new layout design

New isDesign

  • Click to start a new single member design

New isOptimize

  • Click to start a new material optimization job

New isWall

  • Click to create new wall design

*Standard on all applications is Save and Save As

New Project

  • Click to start a new project.
  • *This is the preferred method of creating all jobs in iStruct®

Recent Files

  • The central portion of the home screen displays thumbnails for the most recent jobs created/saved in iStruct®. Users can also pin and/or delete thumbnails from the home screen. As you can see in the screen shot Projects, layouts, single member sizing jobs and wall designs all display on the home-screen
  • *Note: deleting a thumbnail from the home screen does not delete the job file but simply removes it from the recent job display.
  • Hovering over the job name in the thumbnail will display specific details about that job: see below image as example
  • Hovering over the graphic will display enlarged view of the thumbnail: see below image as example

Details

  • isDesign® jobs clicking "Details" will open the full detailed calc report for that job

Calc.

  • isDesign® jobs clicking "Calc" will open the basic calc report for the member without having to open the job file

Summary

  • isDesign® jobs clicking "Summary" will open the summary calc report

Thumbnail

  • Provides a view of the job file: see below image as example

3D

  • isPlan® jobs clicking "3-D" will open a pop-up 3D view of the project.
  • *This is an active view that allows the user to manipulate the 3D image.

Plot

  • isPlan® jobs clicking "Plot" will open the layout report so that users can plot the job without having to open the job file

Quote

  • isPlan® jobs clicking "Quote" will open the quote for the job allowing users to print quotes without opening the job file

Optimize

  • isPlan® jobs clicking "Optimize" will launch isOptimize® so that the job can be optimized for cutting or simply printed out if already previously optimized

  • Below image is a thumbnail graphic of the isPlan® job file
